Sean De Leon Studio

Sean DeLeon’s Fort Wayne basement studio transforms a roughly 17-by-14-foot room into a moody, client-ready control room with an adjacent live-tracking area. Because the existing basement already contained sound effectively, the project prioritized interior acoustics and a highly customized aesthetic rather than a space-consuming room-within-a-room isolation system. Haverstick Designs began with in-room testing and worked through several rendering revisions to coordinate the dark navy stretch-fabric finish, perimeter soffit bass trapping, recessed lighting, sidewall hybrid absorber/diffusers, ceiling clouds, and illuminated rear-wall diffusion. The concealed treatment improves low-frequency consistency and reflection control while retaining enough scattering to keep the room comfortable and creative for mixing, production, vocals, guitars, and band sessions.


Simplified Acoustics executed the specialty build-out, including the stretch-fabric treatment, equipment mounting, conduit, and mic-panel infrastructure. Jumperz fabricated a custom patch panel connecting the control room and live room with 16 XLR inputs, TRS returns, and Ethernet for flexible recording and future monitoring expansion. Sean and his grandfather spray-finished the rear diffusers, while movable ATS Studio Stackers provide additional separation in the live room. Centered on a Universal Audio Apollo system, Rupert Neve Designs summing, and PMC monitoring, the completed studio gives Sean an inspiring and adaptable base for client work, multitrack and live-band recording, mixing, and continued expansion.
