The Adante Piano Room

The piano room is the heartbeat of Anne and Bob Isburgh’s home, The Andante—a custom residence by Wieland Builders featured in Cincinnati’s Homearama 2026. Positioned at the center of the home’s entertaining area, this space was acoustically designed by Haverstick Designs to accommodate both intimate house concerts and private piano sessions. Two (2) telescoping, sound-isolating sliding glass doors from Soundproof Windows provide flexibility, opening the room to the surrounding gathering spaces for performances or closing to create a more private setting while maintaining a visual connection to the rest of the home.

The acoustical design blends architectural character with carefully integrated treatments. Custom stretch fabric work completed by Ketchum & Walton provides a tailored finish, while a distinctive sawtooth feature wall breaks up sound reflections and doubles as bass trapping. Overhead, an acoustical ceiling featuring a fiber-optic starfield adds atmosphere, complemented by tiered wood ceiling sections that discreetly conceal additional soffit bass trapping. Together, these elements create a welcoming space where music takes center stage and acoustical performance is an integral part of the home’s design.
